PostCard Anonymous: Secrets, Lies and Beliefs

Whilst researching interactive galleries for my ICA project I came across an exhibition that was very similar to the Post Secret Exhibition I have written bout in my blog before. This one is called Post Card Anonymous, where you send in a lie, secret or belief. I feel that it would be a good way to get visitors to engage at the ICA as they could anonymously take a blank post card, write their lie and have it shown...secretly knowing that it is on show for 100's of people to see. I think it could a massive personal relief for people to part with a hidden, maybe painful, secret, lie or belief whilst also being a fascinating project to look at. Here are some examples from the exhibition:

This is just a small selection of thousands that have been sent in. However I think people would appreciate and relate to many of the lies, secrets and beliefs that are spoken out about. As with Post Secret exhibition I think there is a kind of relief not only from the people that have sent in their secrets or probably more accurately, worries, but also from the people viewing them as they can relate to it. Maybe what the exhibition is trying to convey is that, with the exception of a few, most of our inner darker worries are things that we have all done, thought about or considered. Or maybe if we were in that persons position we would have done exactly the same. It is a really thought provoking idea and one I want to explore further for my ICA project.
