Final VCT Timeline

After playing around with different layouts and getting help with indesign I finally worked out the layout of the Timeline. I made a template with an image of a cow to use to make it easier to fit in the images and words.

I then worked out what I thought the most important dates and highlights out of the whole timeline were so I could use them as the key pages in the timeline.

VCT Redesign Tryouts

Ok so its the day before I need to hand in my VCT Timeline and I have decided to redesign the whole thing. The image and text are not working. I asked a couple of people for their advice and one person said, 'It just looks like you have chucked text and lines on top of an image.' Which I guess is true. Another said to make the lines of the timeline fit the content more. So I am going to just post a few tryouts so far...

I like the time in history being a bold statement on the page

By making images smaller and leaving white space it really alters the hierarchy of the page

Moving the text and images over the sides of the page as it is a concertina it can still be seen

VCT Timeline work in progress

After Jo's workshop I decided to make the VCT timeline into a concertina book to make it separate the areas of time more succinctly.

Annie Lou Rogers Cartoonist Creates the antiwar pro suffrage Cartoon for publication for Judge in 1913.

 Nell Brinkley Artist and Illustrator creates the illustration The Three Graces with text, 'Any man who loves and reveres his mother and his country should idolise, if he worships t all, the three graces, Suffrage, Preparedness and Americanism,' 1916.

 Marie Neurath Information design and logotype, she begins working with Otto Neurath on the system of representing visual information, she later renames it Isotype 1925.

Eleanor Treacy becomes Art Director for Fortune Magazine in 1930.

 Helen Federico Works for Fortune magazine 1943.

Lillian Bassman:Junior Bazaar is launched with Bassman as art director 1945.
