Point, Line and Plane: Mono-printing Rachel Ortas

Today Rachel led the Mono-Printing workshop. We had to bring in images of London that we liked from a Newspaper or magazine, I wasn't to sure what mono-printing was but it was really interesting. It was a great method to explore and experiment with and it is a really fast and effective way to achieve strong, graphic results.

First of all you roll the ink onto the slate, place the paper and image over the top and then using an instrument to mark make the image.

You can create a darker atmosphere by rubbing across the whole picture with your finger to smudge it.
